As we have said in the home page (introduction) of our website, VDM is an open system which can be can be continuously enriched. During the August 2017 meeting the VDM committee accepted Angelos Bistolas’ and Anna Martinou’s proposal to introduce a new subcategory of content under the title “Efthymographimata Vlahokerasioton” (funny, everyday-life short stories), which have been passed on to Vlahokerasiotes from generation to generation. The new subcategory will be a page of the general menu category: “History-Traditions”.
The visitors to VDM can form a better idea of the content of the new subcategory after taking a look at the first sample of efthymografimata, which are included in the flipping book and which have been collected from various compatriots in order to achieve a wider representation2.
We welcome comparable efthymografimata from Vlahokerasiotes, wherever they live. Of special interest would be materials which deal with the experiences of omogeneis during their resettlement and residence abroad, as well as during their return and/or visits to Greece.
We kindly request of those who intend to submit such materials to abide with the following general guidelines:
a) texts should be short, not more than two doubled-spaced typewritten pages.
b) should not offend anybody (should avoid the use of names/families, whenever they are not absolutely necessary for the story itself)
c) could be written in either Greek or English and, if the sender wishes so, they can be edited by Angelos3, before they are published (The English ones can be translated into Greek by Anna, provided the sender desires this translation).
d) The written texts should be submitted as Word files and the sketches as JPG files (not as PDF files) in order to expedite the Committee’s layout work.

1 Funny, everyday-life short stories
2 The efthymografimata may be accompanied by related black and while sketches, contribution of either a professional or an amateur sketcher (cartoonist). In any case, his/her work will be acknowledged at the appropriate page in the flipping book.
3 Whenever convenient, stories can also be narrated to Angelos in person, who will write them down with reference to the story teller as the source of the story.
